The following terms and conditions apply to all shoots and photographic events, and making a booking requires acceptance of them.
A deposit must be made to secure your date and place on the shoot or photographic event. This fee is refundable for up to 7 days from the time of making the booking. After that date the fee is only refundable if another participant fills the place. I will always re-advertise your space (on Purpleport/Facebook/Instagram) or offer an alternative date or event wherever possible in order to help you. If it is a private event arranged by myself eg. for a camera club or other organisation, then it will be the responsibility of the organisation to fill any spare places.
For photographic events, the balance of the fee must be made no later than 7 days prior to the event, unless some other period is agreed in advance.
For personal shoots, the balance of the fee is payable after the shoot, prior to contact sheets being supplied.
Should the shoot or event need to be postponed due to extreme weather or other circumstances outside my control such as local Coronavirus lockdowns and the new date is not convenient for you then a refund of all monies paid will be offered.
The safety of everyone present during the shoot is of primary importance to me at all times. I hold £5 million public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
Participants must take all reasonable precautions and care of themselves, and their possessions on the shoot and we cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury.
For outdoor location shoots and events we are not in control of the weather and if we are using a public location we may encounter members of the public, both of which may lead us to spend time waiting. We will make best use of the time and locations available subject to interruptions as described above. I’m not able to guarantee any particular amount of shooting time.
We expect all attendees to ensure they are properly equipped for shooting outdoors in the weather conditions at the time. While we will try to avoid bad weather and will indeed rearrange if adverse weather is forecast, it is possible to get caught out in exposed areas without shelter.
For the Follies Photowalk, some of the outdoor shoot locations may require walking up quite steep hills, walking over uneven and slippery surfaces. These do require a reasonable level of fitness and great care to be taken.
There may be issues due to the weather, transport or other circumstances beyond our control. I will always aim to minimise the effect these have and will use my best endeavours and make necessary adjustments to give the best possible service in the circumstances. It may also become necessary to change the model for the group event, in which case I will select a replacement according to the style of shoot.
Comprehensive directions are always given 7 days prior to the event or shoot and I recommend that you check your satnav registers the location and if you have any questions you can contact me and I will help you.
For a group shoot event, I will not normally wait longer than 10 minutes at the meet point for late participants but will always provide contact details for you to find us in the event that you are late. If you are late or do not turn up at all then no refund will be due for the missed session.
Conduct at group events
It is expected that all participants will conduct themselves in a reasonable manner at all times. This expectation includes no contact with the model, that you are respectful of others who are shooting and that you are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Where required by law or government guidance, you agree to wear the required PPE/use hand sanitiser to keep everyone safe.
Additional terms for personal shoots
You will receive a contact sheet of all images taken on the shoot within 48 hours via a Dropbox link. Please send your selections for editing within 28 days of the contact sheets being supplied. Additional edits are £10 each and the additional monies can be paid prior to these edits being supplied. Once any edits are sent you may request changes to these edits as appropriate. I will provide one follow up edit per image if required.
Costumes for personal shoots are to be agreed 7 days prior to the event. Depending on size restrictions it may not be possible to offer choices, but do be assured that you will look fabulous! One costume comprises dress or skirt/top plus a headdress and any other accessories as appropriate.
Any makeup artist/hairstylist that you request for your shoot will be a separate contract and you will pay them directly when they carry out the work. By booking their services you will also agree to their terms and conditions.
If in the event that you need to rearrange your personal shoot then I am always happy to work with you to agree a new date.
