How do I book on an event?
If you send me a message, I will check availability and reply with a payment link. Please note your space is not secured until your deposit is paid. Just prior to the shoot I’ll ask for you to pay the balance. Then I’ll send over the detailed instructions pack. This will include information about how to find our venue, where to park, what to pack and some ground rules for the day.
What should I expect on the day?
On arrival you will register, receive your lanyard, and find your team. Once you’ve all arrived, I’ll do my debrief where I will run through the format of the day, timings and how it will run. You’ll then break off into your groups and get started. Each person will have 1-2-1 shooting time with our models. No shooting over shoulder or ‘paparazzi’ style shooting is permitted on my events. First time, questions about settings, or need any help? No worries, one of my team or I will be on hand to help you with anything you need.
After the first set is over, it’s on to the next ones. It’s a jam-packed day but don’t forget to have fun! We will stop for lunch at some point, a welcome break for you and the models to relax before the pace picks up again for the remainder of the day. Don’t forget myself and my team are always on hand for anything you might need.
The shoot is over, that’s a wrap and it’s time to head home to see what magic we have captured through our lenses!
Can I shoot video instead of taking photographs on the day?
These events are designed specifically for still photography, and video recording is not generally permitted. Video can be disruptive to photographers, models, and other attendees, particularly during timed rotations and shooting sessions.
Can I use images taken on your event days for commercial purposes?
Our models, location and technicians are paid a non commercial rate. This covers non commercial usage of the images, for example uploading to portfolio sites, websites, social media, camera competitions and printing for personal display. If you are wishing to use the images commercially, this may be possible but from previous events, the fee will be around £2500 extra on top of the booking price. This is to cover location and model fee upgrades to allow commercial use of the images.
Can I bring my husband/wife/dog/grandma to the shoot?
We work on a one-person, one-ticket basis. However, if you need to be accompanied by someone for a specific reason, such as a disability, accessibility requirement, or other personal circumstance, please get in touch with me before booking and I'll be happy to discuss your needs. Pets are not permitted on site - this is for health and safety reasons as well as the comfort of all our attendees.
Are model releases provided?
If you require a model release (for non commercial purposes) then our models are happy to sign but please notify me in advance and bring your own forms. If you don't have a model release then I recommend the RPS version.
Where do you get your dresses from?
Now there's a question. I have a lot of different places that I buy my dresses from, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one. I spend a lot of time sourcing them, so prefer not to disclose so I can keep my events unique, but do look out for my gown sales as I regularly make room for more
Do you offer gown hire?
I don't hire out my gowns, as you can imagine with a full time job alongside my busy events schedule, there just isn't the time! Why not
come on an event instead?
I would like to collaborate with you as a designer
I enjoy collaborating with designers. Drop me a line and we can chat!
I'm a model, can I shoot with you?
I regularly book models for my events so if you are an agency standard model with lots of experience then contact me. Models on my events get paid but do not get images guaranteed. If you are looking to shoot with me but also receive images then contact me about my occasional collaborations or paid shoot packages
I'm a total beginner, can I come on an event?
Absolutely, you would be most welcome. Just let me know at the time of booking so I can make sure there is support available for you on the day
Where do you keep all your gowns?
I have two storage units, one for gowns and one for props and other bits and pieces
When will you be coming to my location?
I book places on the strength of the venue rather than the location, but I am always looking for new venues. If you want me to run an event near you, then contact me with some venue ideas. I'm particularly interested in venues in the North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands
